As Christians, we are UNITED around the Bible, the written revelation of God’s Word that reveals all that we need to know unto salvation and life. We confess and believe that it bears witness to Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only Savior and hope for sinners.

We are REFORMED in our faith and practice according to the Scriptures as summarized during the 16th Century Protestant Reformation in the Three Forms of Unity, which include: the Belgic Confession (1561), the Heidelberg Catechism (1563) and the Canons of Dort (1619). We believe that we come into a saving relationship with God only because of His gracious work in our hearts; therefore He deserves our praise in every area of life.

We are a CHURCH belonging to the one holy, universal and apostolic Church instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ for the ministry of the Word (preaching of the Law and the Gospel), the ministry of the Sacraments (Baptism and the Lord’s Supper) and the shepherding of God’s people by pastors and elders. As a historic Christian Church, we believe and profess the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed .

We chose COVENANT as our name because of the importance of the Covenants in our salvation; they are the essence of our assurance in every Christian’s life. They are also the basis of Reformed Theology as Covenant Theology.

Covenant Theology involves two primary features: The Covenant of Works and the Covenant of Grace. In the Covenant of Works, God entered into a covenant with Adam prior to the Fall. In this covenant He promised eternal life for obedience during a probationary period and death if Adam disobeyed. In this time of testing Adam stood as the federal head of all humanity; had he obeyed, he would have been confirmed in righteousness with the benefits passing to all humanity.

Conversely, because he failed and fell, Adam’s act of disobedience was imputed, (charged to) all humanity.

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned – For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.”

Romans 5:12-17

After the Fall God entered into another covenant with Adam (who was representing the human race), wherein God out of His abundant mercy promised eternal life to all those who would believe in Jesus Christ.
